About the Five Eyes
Five Eyes is a signals intelligence-sharing alliance between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. It is the only grouping mapped here with no headquarters, no secretariat and, for most of its existence, no public acknowledgement: the founding UKUSA Agreement of 1946 was not declassified until 2010.
The five shaded countries are spread across every ocean, which is the point — the arrangement originated in the wartime division of global signals collection between British and American services, later extended to the three Dominions. The globe rendering of this map shows that reach better than a flat projection does, since the members sit almost antipodally to one another.
Because there is no treaty organisation to publish a roster, the membership is defined by the agreement's signatories rather than by any admission process. Related but distinct groupings sometimes called Nine Eyes and Fourteen Eyes add European partners with narrower access; they are not shaded here.

All four downloads are free for personal, classroom, academic and editorial use — a school project, a lecture slide, a blog post, a news graphic. Boundaries come from Natural Earth, which is public domain.
