By using MapPalette (mappalette.com) you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain language on purpose.

Your maps belong to you

Maps you create and export with MapPalette are yours. You may use them for any purpose — personal, educational or commercial — including in publications, presentations, websites, videos and printed material. Attribution is appreciated but not required. The underlying boundary data comes from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain.

Ready-made map images

The static map images published on this site — the "Map of …" PNG and SVG files linked from each country, continent and quiz page, and the organisation membership maps in the gallery — are free to use, share and adapt for personal, educational, editorial and commercial purposes, including in print, online and in video. No permission is needed and no fee is charged. A credit to MapPalette (mappalette.com) is appreciated but not required. You may not present the images as an official government map, and any dates printed on an image (for example the "as of" date on a membership map) should be kept when the image is reused so that it is not mistaken for current data later on.

The service is provided "as is"

MapPalette is a free tool provided without any warranty. We aim for the site to be available and accurate, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or of maps exported from it. Save your work regularly — the Config download button lets you keep a local copy of any map.

Boundaries and names

Administrative boundaries, region names and country groupings follow the Natural Earth dataset (with a dedicated India dataset on the India map). Borders and names of some territories are disputed; their depiction here is for general visualization and does not express any political position. Do not rely on these maps for legal, navigational or official purposes.

Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at abusive rates, or use it to distribute malware or unlawful content via shared map links.
• Optional satellite, street and terrain imagery is served by Esri and subject to Esri's terms; imagery may not be extracted or bulk-downloaded through this site.
• You may link to any page on MapPalette freely.

Advertising

The site is free to use and is supported by advertising. How advertising cookies are handled is described in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
